Maria Rose Portnajmer (nee Casale) died Dec 18, 2012 at home. She was 79. Born in Newark she was a lifelong Harrison resident.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny. Mass will be on Friday at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, East Newark. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Maria was a waitress for many years at Dunphys Hawaiian Palms in Harrison. Wife of the late Casey Portnajmer, she is survived by her son Steven and his companion Zita, her sisters Lulu Waters (Late Lefty), Loretta Graves (Raymond), Diane Iacullo (Al), Joan Casale (late George), her brothers Vincent Casale (Judy), James Casale (Alessandra) and the late Frank (Elaine). She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Maria appreciated all the kindness of her neighbor Angelo.
