Francis J. Mazza, 66 of Clifton, formerly of Kearny, passed away on June 16, 2013 at home. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove drive Kearny. Mass at 10 am in St. Clares Church in Clifton and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Frank was a member of the 1962 Championship St. Cecilias Basketball team. After college, he returned to St. Cecilias School where he taught at the high school for four years and coached soccer, baseball and basketball. He also coached The Clifton Midget Basketball League. In addition to teaching Frank loved his work as a lumberjack in Virginia. He also worked in the insurance industry for Prudential. Frank went on in his career as a driver and dispatcher for Allied Building Products and was Jersey Tractor Trailer driving instructor.
Son of the late Francis and Gracie Mazza, he is survived by his wife Lucille (nee Bozzelli) and his son James and his wife Kristen. Bother of the late George he is also survived by his sister-in-law Jeannie, his nieces Leah and Heather, his Aunt and several cousins.
