Edmund T. Wiss 98, of Kearny died on 5/24/15 at home. Visiting will be at The Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny on Wednesday 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Thursday at 11:30 am at St. Stephen's Church, Kearny. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Wiss lived in Kearny since 1954. He was the founder and owner of Edwiss Jewelers, Harrison for 38 years retiring in 1994. He received his B.S. from The University of Michigan in 1937. He was the Past President of The Polish University Club of New Jersey. Mr. Wiss met the love of his life, Sophie, at a dance in Somerset. They both enjoyed traveling the world especially their many vacations in Aruba as well as the many polkas they danced together throughout the years. He is the beloved husband of the late Sophie Drentkiewicz Wiss. Father of Edwina, Jay (Susan) and Paul (Jill) Wiss. Brother of Helen Dichek. Grandfather of Christopher (Patrice) and Craig (Leah) Wiss and Joy (Erik) Jacobsen and Morgen (William) Christopher. Great Grandfather of 9 Grandchildren.
