Sophie Uhlick (nee Nesgody) 94, of Kearny passed away on January 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Visiting will be at The Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny on Friday 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Saturday at 11am at St. Cecilia's Church, Kearny. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Coupon, PA to Michael and Agnes Nesgody, Sophie lived in Harrison before moving to Kearny in 1960.
She is the beloved wife of the late Walter A. "Ruskie" Uhlick. Dear mother of Patricia Burneyko (the late Joseph), James Uhlick (Deb), Michael Uhlick (Lynne) and Carol Theobald (Don). Sophie was pre deceased by 9 siblings. She is the cherished grandmother of Jason (Stephanie), Erik (Kerry), Christopher (Tori), Trevor, Amanda, Kayla and Lauren. Great Grandmother of Nathaniel and Elaina.
Sophie was the heart of the family. She always loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her house felt like home to everyone.
