Danny Lamego

The curtain falls on Danny Lamego, the legendary vocalist and band leader of the Jumpin' Jacks on Saturday, January 27, 2018.
Danny began his 62 year career at the Pike Inn in Kearny and Molinari's in Union City. The Jumpin' Jacks have since performed in many venues most notably the Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands, D'Jais in Belmar, Peppermint Lounge in New York City and the Thunder Bird in Las Vegas. "We are a visual act," Danny would say. He never changed the taste of music his followers enjoy, please any one that requested a song and never changed his pleasant personality. Danny will be missed by his loving family, the musicians he performed with on stage and his many adoring fans.
Danny was the beloved husband of Betty (Legregin); Devoted father of Daniel & Carmelita Lamego, Janet & Joe Basile, Karen & Philip Castagna and the late Robert Lamego and Barbara Verlingo; loving brother of the late Elsye Lamego and Theresa Nunes; dear brother-in-law of Nancy DiGeronimo and Joan Legregin. Also survived by 7 loving grandchildren and 10 cherished great-grandchildren.
Visitation is on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, 1:00pm to 4:30pm at Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, NJ 07032. Danny had requested after visitation cremation be private, omit flowers and no one to be sad.
