Olga Yenish (nee Pecorelli) passed away on December 16, 2018. She was 81. Born in Brooklyn she lived in Harrison and Nutley before moving to Whippany 8 years ago. Wife of the late Joseph, she is survived by her daughters Olga Mackin (Stephen), Donna Kotchkowski (John) and Barbara Gibbons (Brian), her brothers Chris and Eugene Pecorelli along with her grandchildren Michael, John Joseph and Kayla and her great granddaughter Elizabeth.
Viewing will be Tuesday December 18 at Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny, NJ from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, a Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington, NJ and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum
Olga spent some of her happiest early years at Our Lady of Libera Church in West New York as part of the choir, and where she married Joe Yenish in 1959. Her love of music stayed with her throughout her life as she led a successful career at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, as an Assistant to the Dean of Student Affairs, while raising her family in North Jersey. Upon retirement Olga moved to Nutley, NJ where she loved to play piano, cook, and entertain her family on all the holidays. Olga will be remembered by all of those who knew her as a sweet and generous person who loved life and was most happy when those around her were happy.
