Charles J. Carpenter passed away suddenly at home on Friday, September 6th, 2019.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Charles at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Monday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Kearny on Tuesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Born in Newark, NJ, Charles “Chuck” grew up in Kearny and lived briefly in East Rutherford. After graduating Kearny High School, he followed his passion to Lincoln Technical Institute, Union, NJ for Automative Technology. He worked for Apple Chevrolet in Paramus, and Firestone in Bayonne as an auto mechanic. An avid sports fan he loved the NY Yankees, and enjoyed fishing.
The son of Mary and Charles, who predeceased him, he leaves his devoted sisters Elizabeth, Patricia and Theresa;
his dear children Lauren, Nicole and Jeffrey, and his granddaughter, Kayla;
beloved nieces and nephews, Elliott Courter (Claudia), Rachel Courter (Kevin), Sarah Chuff (Ryan), and John;
and great nieces and nephews Nathan, Jocelyn, Liliana; Cohen, Amelia and Audrey; Brandon and Ethan.
He also leaves two aunts, Mildred Pristupa and Anna Ferris, and cousins, John and Kenny Ferris, Tony Sabestinas and many others.
