Arthur Hackett passed away on May 1, 2020. He was 72. Born in Kearny he has lived in North Arlington for many years. Private arrangements are by The Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. After graduating from Essex Catholic , Art enrolled in The U.S. Army serving during The Vietnam War. He retired a few years ago from The Kearny Police Department at the rank of Sergeant. Artie, part timed bar tended at Teddys Cocktail Lounge in Kearny for many years and has been one of the main assistants at The Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home for over 25 years. He and his late father,Bob Hackett, were both active with the American Legion in Kearny. He is the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Snyder) and loving father of Meghan Delli Santi (Anthony). Brother of Ellen Pfarr, Jim Hackett (Lisa), Carole Hackett, Thomas Hackett (Shelley) and the late Kathleen Potter (Aramis). He was the dear brother-in-law of Marguerite Daily and Elaine McDonnell. He was the cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandson and little buddy Tony.
