Abelardo Outumuro, 86 of Elizabeth passed away at home on February 7, 2021.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Abelardo at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Friday from 9 - 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Ourense, Spain, Abelardo lived in Newark before moving to Elizabeth. He worked as a longshoreman for SeaLand at Port Elizabeth for many years.
Abelardo was the beloved husband of Rosa (nee Rodriguez) Outumuro; loving father of Pilar Salgado (Delmiro) and Joseph Outumuro (Isabel); dear grandfather of Rosemarie, Delmiro, Michael, Anthony and Matthew; and adoring great-grandfather of Destiny, Julian and Briella.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
