Franklin R. Marinho passed away on February 6, 2021. He was 68. Born in Newark he was raised in Harrison, then lived in Kearny before moving to Belleville. There will be a memorial Mass on Friday February 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephens Church in Kearny.
Frank is survived by his wife of 46 years Joanice (nee Kiss). Son of Lucinda and the late Julio Marinho . He was the dear father of Franklin Marinho Jr., Christine D’Elia (Joseph) and Erica Farrell (Captain Sean). Brother of John Marinho, Linda Amaral and Joanne Marinho he is also survived by his grandchildren; Brady, Joey, Declan, Jameson, Jack and Kevin along with several nieces and nephews.
Franklin would quip “The thing about life is that no one gets out alive”. He was the Past President of The Hudson County Traffic Club. He retired as a sales manager at Winsor Staffing. However, he’s been in transportation all of his life with a stint in wine sales. His career lead him to 1975 Clipper Express, Rolands Leasing, AMI, Daybreak International, and McDonalld Douglas. He also started his own company which was dissolved before he was diagnosed with Corticobasal Degeneration.
CBD is a rare degenerative neurological disorder and as of May of 2019 only about 50 people in New Jersey were diagnosed with this disease. It was very important to Frank to help and support further research and help find a cure or some effective treatment. For this reason, he made a beautiful and selfless decision to donate his brain to Science. This request was honored by his loving family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable contributions be sent to Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264 Menlo Park, CA 94026 www.brainsupportnetwork.org
