Maria Isabel Alegre passed away on March 24, 2021. She was 86. Born in Sao Paio, Portugal she currently lived in East Newark. Arrangements are by Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. Mass will be on Saturday March 27, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephens Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Maria is the beloved wife of Carlos Alegre. She is survived by her loving children Lizette Goncalves (Manuel), Liria Magao (Jorge), Gerardo Alegre (Adelaide), Anabela Alegre-Bannon, Alexandre Alegre (Angela) and Sonia Alegre. She was the cherished grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Fernanda Duarte, Ivonne Corral and Teresa Patrucinio.
