Carlos A. Alegre, passed away on May 2, 2021. He was 95. Born in Covilha, Portugal he currently lived in East Newark. Arrangements are by Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. Mass will be on Thursday May 6, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stephens Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Carlos was the beloved husband of the late Maria Alegre (nee Ferrao). He is survived by his loving children Lizette Goncalves (Manuel), Liria Magao (Jorge), Gerardo Alegre (Adelaide), Anabela Alegre-Bannon, Alexandre Alegre (Angela) and Sonia Alegre. He was the cherished grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Mariazinha Costa and Irene Branco.
