Robert L. Vilardo, Sr., 74 of Kearny passed away on September 25, 2021.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Robert at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Tuesday from 3-7 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 AM. Cremation will be private.
Born in Jersey City, Robert was a longtime resident until moving to Kearny in 1985. He worked for the NJSEA at the Meadowlands in their maintenance department for 33 years before retiring 12 years ago. Robert was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed crabbing. Most of all, Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Robert was the beloved husband of 55 years to Stephanie (nee Szwydko) Vilardo; loving father of Robert L. Vilardo, Jr. and his wife Alicia, Richard Vilardo and his wife Melanie, James Vilardo and his wife Debby, Mark Vilardo and his wife Heather and Anthony Vilardo and his wife Nicole; dear grandfather of Jessica, Erik, Rebecca, Faith, James, Melissa, Gabe, Scott, Kimberly, Noah, Anthony and Justin; and adoring great-grandfather of Amaya. He is also survived by his siblings Liz, Benny, Dora, Johnny, Alan, Michael, Ronald, Tina, Peter, Paul and Gloria, and by his in-laws Mary Ann, Jerry and Peter.
