Aurora Bartra (nee Zuniga), 87 of Belleville, formerly of North Newark passed away peacefully on September 29, 2021.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Aurora at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Monday from 10 am to 12 noon. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 12 noon, and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Peru, Aurora moved to East Harlem in 1968 before becoming a longtime resident of North Newark. She was a great cook, and was dedicated to caring for her family. Aurora proudly prepared meals for many years for undocumented immigrants, helping them to make their way in America. She also enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, and frequent trips to Atlantic City, as well as watching her novelas.
Aurora was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Bartra; loving mother of Hector Bartra and his wife Leonor and Glenn Bartra and his wife Maricel; cherished grandmother of Gabriel, Daniel, Emely, Alonso and Leonela. She is survived by her dear siblings Irma, Mercedes, Miriam, Alberto, Hortencia and Josefina, and was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
