Charles Lawrence Detore, 80 of Harrison passed away on January 3, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Charles at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Saturday January 8 from 9 - 11 AM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11 AM, and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Jersey City, Charles was a lifelong Harrison resident. A graduate of Seton Hall Prep, Charles attended Seton Hall University before serving in the US Navy. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Kearny for many years until his retirement in 2009. Charles enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
The son of the late Rocco and Christine (nee Mattei) Detore, Charles was the beloved husband of Carol (nee Domaleski) Detore; loving father of Renee Detore and Nicole Detore. He is also survived by his sister Connie Campesi, and nieces and nephews Kim Ryan, Anthony Russomanno, Alisa Losito and Anthony Detore. Charles was predeceased by his brother Anthony Detore.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
