Russell Murray passed away on June 7, 2020 from Covid He was 87. Because of the limitations on funerals at that time, he was entombed at The Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum with his beloved wife Anne. Now that restrictions have been lifted we are planning a celebration of his life at The Armitage Wiggins Funeral in Kearny on Saturday June 11, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon. There will be a service in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. and final prayers will be at The Mausoleum.
Russell was born in Jersey City and lived most of his life in Kearny before moving to Succasunna in 2017. Russell served in The U.S. Army during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and retired as the Chief Financial Office for The Town of Kearny. Russell was a dedicated member and Past Exalted Ruler of The Kearny Elks. He loved bowling on the Elks and Admiral Leagues, playing craps, poker and trips to Atlantic City. He loved being down the shore and rooting for the Mets and the Giants. But his most precious fun time was being with his grandson Russell James Murray. He was the loving father of Tracey Tagliente and Russell K. Murray. He was also the cherished brother of Jean Triano.
