Blanca T. Moyano

Blanca Tula Moyano Cascante, 97, of Newark passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 17, 2022. Blanca, affectionately known as Tulita, was born in Riobamba, Ecuador on July 12, 1924 to Cesar Cascante and Maria Aviles. Blanca was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Moyano. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing dresses for her daughters and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren. She enjoyed going out on the weekends with her children to dinner. She would never say no. In 1969, she immigrated to the United States with two of her children to meet her husband and five other children already established in Newark. Together, Blanca and Manuel gave their children the chance at the American Dream. Building a loving family, she was the true definition of a matriarch, leaving behind a lasting legacy in all who loved her. 

Blanca was the devoted mother of Carmen Davila, Jorge Moyano & Antonieta Sanchez, Victor Moyano & Iliana Iannicelli, Mario & Hildelisa Moyano, Fausto & Cynthia Moyano, Norma & Charles Reitemeyer, Marcelo Moyano, and Marlina Commisso.

Tulita was the cherished grandmother of Carlos, Edwardo & Maria, Elizabeth, Yanette & Frank, Scott & Sheila, Mario Jr. & Lideliz, Cesar, Christopher & Hannah, Leigha & Daniel, Alyson & Boris, Charles Jr. & Ashley, Katherine & Miguel, Patrick & Jessica, Marcel & Kathryn, Vanessa & Eric, Jonathan, and Sofia. 

She was the loving great-grandmother of Christina, Christian, Candice, Kayla, Anthony, Alexandra, Mason, Reagan, Julian, Amelia, Kristina, Clara, Nathaniel, Wesley, Evangelina, Avery, Emily, Isabella, Lilliana, Lukas, Violet, Kiara, Lydia, Leo, Benjamin and Maxwell. 

She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Blanca was also predeceased by her siblings, Rosa Aviles, Cesar E. Cascante, and Bolivar E. Cascante. 

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, June 21st from 2-4pm & 6-9pm at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. 

A 10am funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 22nd at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Newark. 

Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
