Vincent Rovetto, 94 of Vernon, formerly of North Arlington passed away on June 18, 2022.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, June 21 from 10am-12:45pm at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Funeral service will commence at 12:45pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Rovetto. Loving children, Stephen and his wife Kathleen Rovetto, Jonathan and his wife Ives, and Barbara Reagan. Cherished grandchildren, Allyson, Stephen, John, Amy, Paul, Melanie and Jessica, as well as six great grandchildren Gabrielle, Lilly, Chloe, Olivia, Mateo and Alexander. Dear brother of David and his wife Mary Rovetto. Vincent is predeceased by his daughter Lois Colucci, and siblings Sam Rovetto, Peter Rovetto and his wife Evelyn, Joe Rovetto and his wife Lucy, John Rovetto, Rosario Rovetto and his wife Lina, Matthew Rovetto and his wife Gail, Rose Occhipinti and her husband Frank, Mildred Rovetto and Mary Manfred. Vincent was a proud serviceman. He enrolled in the United States Navy on June 19, 1945 and served as a transport ship mechanic. He was honorably discharged on June 7, 1946. He soon then transferred to the United States Army on September 20, 1950, assigned to retrieve disabled tanks, and to help wounded soldiers under constant fire. He was finally transferred to the United States Reserves on June 29, 1952 where he remained and was honorably discharged on October 29, 1956.
