Iolanda Zangari, 88 of Kearny passed away on July 31, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Iolanda at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Wednesday August 3 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30 AM, and entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park.
Born in Soverto, Italy, Iolanda has lived in Kearny for the past 50 years. She had a passion for cooking, and it truly showed with each delicious meal she prepared. Iolanda was also a talented seamstress, but her greatest accomplishment was raising her loving family. Iolanda was a devoted wife who powered through any adversity she encountered. She was a strong, proud woman who made a beautiful life for herself and for her family. Iolanda was beloved and respected by everyone she met.
Predeceased by her parents Gaetano and Carmela Surrago, Iolanda was the devoted wife of Teodoro Zangari; cherished mother of Cathy Rebelo (Helder), Teo “Ted” Zangari (Sherri) and the late Francesco Zangari. She was the proud grandmother of Helder “J.T.”, Dante, Isabella and Teo, and was the dear sister of Nella Merlino. Iolanda was predeceased by her sisters Elvira and Linucca.
