Louis Russell Calautti, 86 of Kearny died on August 14, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Louis at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Kearny on Friday at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny.
Born in Carbondale, PA, Louis lived in Kearny for more than 60 years. He joined the Marine Corps. after high school and served overseas in the Pacific. He became a printer and worked for Singer, Boys Town in Kearny, and finally for Sika Chemical Corp., from which he retired after many years. Louis was an avid golfer and was well known and liked at Hendricks Field Golf Course in Belleville. He was also a Giants Football fan, and was thrilled when they won their first Super Bowl in 1986.
The son of the late James and Angelina Calautti, Louis was predeceased by his wife Edith and by his granddaughter Danielle. He is survived by his four children James, Kenneth, Joette Calautti and Jean Anjos, and by his fiance Jo-El Gelcius. He was the grandfather of Anthony, Joseph, Nicole and Ronan, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
