Michael J. Padavano passed away on August 21, 2022. at the age of 48. He leaves behind his daughter and light of his life, Maya Padavano, his father Robert Padavano , his sister Renae Padovano Maslag, his brother in law Al Maslag, nephews Joshua and Jacob and niece Alexandria Maslag and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael had many loving memories in NYC with his aunt Constance Padovano. His mother is Diana McLaughlin.
Michael spent most of his childhood in Belleville, NJ and had many fond childhood memories of skateboarding with friends and spending hours after school in his Dad’s deli in Kearny. In his late teenage years his significant talent for drawing emerged. In his 20’s, he discovered a passion for the art of tattooing and dedicated himself to studying different tattoo styles and the work of different artists to perfect his craft. He deeply loved that work and never stopped studying. He worked at many studios throughout his adult life, most notably Kingdom Tattoo in the West Village and Sunnyside Tattoo Studio in Queens, but also spent days and late nights tattooing clients out of his home. He formed many close friendships with his longtime clients.
Michael had a huge heart, a playful spirit and a great sense of humor with a hearty laugh that you couldn’t help but laugh along with. He loved the beach and could spend long days there, especially with his daughter. He also liked long bike rides. He had many significant challenges and struggles in life, especially in recent years, but never lost his extreme generosity and his genuine soul. May he finally be at peace, loved by many
A memoral service for Michael will be on Saturday September 17 from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny. Fr. Anthony, from Queen of Peace Church, will offer prayers at 5:15 p.m.
