Kenneth T. Brown, of Kearny, Newark Police Sergeant, passed away on January 21, 2024. He was 53 years of age.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Visiting will be on Thursday January 25, 2024 from 2 until 8 p.m at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to return to the funeral home Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. in the Cathedral Basilica of The Sacred Heart 89 Ridge Street Newark, N.J. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Kenny served in The United States Coast Guard and currently served 28 years as a Newark Police Officer. He served in specialized units such as Narcotics, Auto Theft Task Force and Safe City Task Force. Ken was also a K9 Officer, an FBI Trained Explosives Technician as well as served as a Tactical Flight Officer in the aviation division of The Emergency Services Bureau where he was currently assigned as a Police Sergeant and became a Police Training Commissioner Firearms Instructor prior to his passing. He is the son of the late Ken and Maureen Brown. Beloved husband of Ann (nee Dabrowski) and loving father of Casey Brown. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Bennington and Karen Hodge along with loving nieces and nephews.
