Dorothy Cameron (nee Cookson), 91 of North Arlington passed away on October 29, 2026.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Dorothy at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny on Sunday November 1 from 4-8 PM, with a funeral service being held from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by her burial at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny at 11 AM.
Born in Bloomfield, Dorothy moved to North Arlington in 1956. She was a sixty year resident of Lyndhurst before moving back to North Arlington five years ago. In her younger years, Dorothy worked at Woolworth’s, and at a bank in Bloomfield prior to marrying and raising her family.
Dorothy had a deep love for The Lord, her family and for her church. A devoted member of Kearny Bible Church for sixty years, she has been a faithful member of Rutherford Bible Chapel since 2010. Dorothy had a passion for gardening, and grew the most beautiful flowers with so much love and care. She also enjoyed time spent making ceramics, and was an avid baker; she made the best chocolate chip cookies!
The beloved wife of the late Thomas Stuart Cameron, Dorothy was the loving mother of Bruce Cameron, Debra Uhler and her husband Timothy and Karen Allen and her husband Jay. She was the dear grandmother of Amy Uhler and her husband Mick, Rob Allen and his wife Amanda, Brian Allen and his wife Amanda, Katie Reyes and her husband David, Jason Uhler and his wife Kelly, Craig Uhler and his wife Abby, Alex Cameron and his wife Julieanne, Kristen Seetaram and her husband Bobby, and the late Bradley Allen. She was the adoring great-grandmother of Brooke, Hailey, Rylie, Adeline, Joshua, Clara, Samuel, Ian, Silas, Gideon and Emily. Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Cookson.
