Aidee Abreu, lived 73 blessed years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 28th, 2026, surrounded by the fierce love of her daughters and loved ones.
Born on a Friday July 11th, 1952, in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic. Aidee was a woman of incredible willpower, legendary strength and faith.
Her mornings always began the same way: the TV turned on to greet the day, a cup of hot black coffee, a pen in hand and a Sudoku, a word search puzzle ready to be solved, or a “novelita.” She had a brilliant mind that both loved and was ready for the challenges of life and a spirit that was both emotionally and physically unyielding.
Whether she was traveling with her daughters or sitting quietly at home, she lived life on her own terms.
Aidee was known for her “Mountain-like” resolve, she was famously stubborn, and once her mind was made up, it was a force nature. But that same stubbornness was the foundation of her loyalty; she loved her family fiercely, with a protective devotion that could never be shaken.
She is survived by her daughters, who were her greatest travel companions and her pride and joy: Jennifer, Airys and Yarina. Her grandchildren: Edu, AJ, Arlys, Ethan, Rory and Sassa. She also leaves behind a legacy of strength for her brothers: Franklin and Getulio and the many lives she touched with her sharp, funny wit and enduring spirit.
Though we will miss her presence (and recipes), we take comfort knowing she is now resting in the Father’s arms.
