Timothy J. Moran passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 17, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was predeceased by his parents James Jude Moran and Eileen Joan Moran (nee Delaney). He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maureen (nee Rapka), sons Timothy Moran Jr., Patrick Moran (Courtney), grandchildren Conor and Hailey Moran, brothers James Jude Moran Jr. (Michelle), David J. Moran (Mariann), Thomas M. Moran (Karen), sister Judith A. Moran (Matthew DeLuca), brother-in-law Steve Rapka (Kim) along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Tim dedicated 30 years of his life to public service with the Hudson County Department of Corrections and the Jersey City Police Department. Upon retirement, you could find him enjoying life in “his mountains” in Palenville, New York. He cherished his family, was a man of faith and made everyone he encountered feel special.
We will miss his love, keen wit and kindness.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home,596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, NJ. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen’s Church in Kearny, NJ. Burial will follow immediately at Palenville Cemetery in Palenville, NY.
