Spyridon A. Zarkadas, “Spike”, 67, of Harrison passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Born in Karpenisi, Greece, he immigrated to Harrison, NJ at the age of 14. He graduated from Harrison High School and was a friend and kind soul to all. He was the sole proprietor of Jimmy’s Hot Dogs, Harrison, in his later years he worked in construction and retired last year. His primary job was to take care of his mother “Marika”. He is predeceased by his father Alexandros Zarkadas. “Spyro” is survived by his mother, Maria Zarkadas. He leaves behind a host of loving family members, both in the US and Greece. As well as loving neighbors who turned into family.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, July 7th, from 10-11:30am in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 721 Rahway Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
Funeral Mass will commence at 11:30am.
Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Ave, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
