Michael Francis “Keegan” Cannon, of Kearny, NJ, passed away on August 21, 2025. Born on June 3, 1970, Mike lived a life full of laughter, stories, and an unshakable devotion to the people he loved.
Visiting will take place Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Funeral Mass will be Friday 10:00 am in St. Cecilia’s Church and Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
To know Mike was to know his stories—always wild, often hilarious, and sure to leave everyone around him doubled over with laughter. He had a way of filling a room with energy, whether he was recounting one of his “crazy adventures,” cheering for his beloved Minnesota Vikings, New York Islanders, and New York Mets, or blasting his favorite music and bands. Anyone who knew him also knew you could always find him at any Mo show, where most of his friends would also be.
Mike was also well-known for his adventurous spirit. As a professional urban climber, he carried on a tradition that was uniquely his own—every March, scaling the “Annie Bridge” in Kearny to proudly hang the Irish flag in celebration of his heritage.
But above all, Mike’s proudest role in life was being a father and grandfather. His son Brendan was his greatest joy, and his granddaughter Harper lit up his world. He cherished the time he spent with them and spoke often of the love that only grew deeper each day.
Mike is survived by his son Brendan, daughter-in-law Melina, and his beloved granddaughter Harper. He also leaves behind his father Francis, and siblings Colleen, Kevin (with Angela), Eileen (with Jeff), and Gina (with Juan); as well as many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Mike: Denise, Roy, Nicole, Kevin, and Jaylene. He is reunited in peace with his sister Kathleen, and his mother Maureen.
